Description

The K&N 69 Series Typhoon air intake system is engineered to significantly reduce airflow restriction by replacing the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing with a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube. This specific kit, the 69-1209TS, features a silver powder-coated aluminum tube for durability and aesthetic appeal. It accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crankcase vent assembly. The system includes a high-flow air filter with a black rubber top and a heat shield that integrates into the previous air box space. The oversized, cone-shaped air filter is designed to last up to 100,000 miles before requiring service, depending on driving conditions. It is washable and reusable, contributing to a lifetime of use. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less, utilizing existing factory mounting points. Basic tools such as screwdrivers, a ratchet set, and wrenches are generally required. The system is CARB exempt and 50-state legal, with a CARB EO Number D-269-37, making it suitable for use in California and other states with similar emission standards. It is specifically designed for the 2004-2007 Honda Accord with the 2.4L four-cylinder engine, including SULEV models and FWD configurations.
