The MSD 6-BTM (Boost Timing Master) is a capacitive discharge ignition control unit specifically engineered for forced induction applications (turbocharged or supercharged engines). It provides multiple sparks for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation, ensuring complete combustion and increased power. A key feature is its adjustable boost timing retard circuit, which allows users to dial in 1 to 3 degrees of timing retard per pound of boost (up to a maximum of 15 degrees). This is crucial for preventing detonation in high-cylinder pressure environments common in forced induction engines. The unit also incorporates Soft Touch Rev Control for over-rev protection and comes with RPM modules for 3,000, 6,000, 7,000, and 8,000 RPM. It's programmable for 4, 6, or 8-cylinder engines and is CARB E.O. Approved, making it legal for use in all 50 states.
