6R140 Built Transmission

The Rudy's 6R140 Built Transmission is engineered for enhanced performance and durability in 2011-2019 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 models with the 6.7L Powerstroke engine. Rudy's Performance Parts, with extensive experience building Powerstroke transmissions since 2008, offers various stages to suit different driving needs, from towing to racing. Each stage features a fully rebuilt 6R140 transmission with upgraded components. Standard features include new OEM Ford pump and lock-up springs, an upgraded and recalibrated valve body with new solenoids, and custom sets of Exedy clutches and steels for all drum assemblies, including a 5-clutch forward drum, 5-clutch direct drum, 9-clutch overdrive with a chromoly apply plate, and a 6-clutch intermediate drum. Custom-machined overdrive apply pistons, all new Teflon-coated bushings, a new filter, and custom-machined steels are also included. All transmissions come with a 2-year limited warranty, though shafts are not covered. Specific stages offer further enhancements: Stage 1 is rated for 550HP for Towing/HD. Stage 1+ adds a Suncoast E Clutch Damper assembly, recommended for mitigating squawking noise during the 3-4 gear exchange and extending clutch life, with a 650HP rating. Stage 2 includes a Billet Intermediate Shaft for increased reliability in up to 750HP applications, suitable for mild upgrades and heavy towing. Stage 2+ combines the Billet Intermediate Shaft and damper for up to 850HP. The Stage 3 Competition transmission offers the most clutch material for 1000HP+ applications and includes a Billet Intermediate Shaft and Billet Apply Pistons. For Stage 3, a quad disc converter and billet flexplate are recommended. Important notes for installation and operation: A 500-mile break-in period is required. Proof of a new torque converter installation is necessary to maintain the warranty. The 2011 model year trucks utilize an 8-bolt converter, and the correct converter must be purchased if not upgrading to a billet flexplate. Crucially, all stages require valve body recalibration through IDS; failure to perform this calibration before driving will result in transmission damage.
