Based on the robust GM 4L80E, this electronically controlled unit features six forward gears with close ratios (2.97, 2.23, 1.57, 1.18, 1.00, and 0.75 overdrive) for optimal power band utilization. The base model is rated for up to 850 horsepower, with options for custom builds handling 1,200-1,300 horsepower. It is fully electronic and integrates with TCI's EZ-TCU for tunable Performance and Economy modes, allowing adjustment of shift pressures, firmness, and speed without a laptop. This package does not include a bellhousing, making it adaptable to various engine configurations with the appropriate bellhousing. Included is a paddle shifter for dynamic control. Installation typically requires custom fabrication for transmission crossmembers and driveshafts, as well as addressing potential clearance issues, making it ideal for custom builds rather than direct OEM replacements.
