The housing is also inspected for straightness, cracks, and surface wear, and cleaned using a hydro-blast and sandblasting procedure.

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-2102C-P is a remanufactured rear axle assembly featuring a 7.5-inch ring gear diameter, a 3.73 gear ratio, and a Posi (limited-slip differential). This semi-floating axle assembly is specifically designed for 1994-1997 Chevrolet S10, S15, and GMC Sonoma 2WD models that are equipped with the third shock mount option. The remanufacturing process by Zumbrota Drivetrain involves a comprehensive inspection of all internal components, including ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers. All bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced as part of the rebuild. Zumbrota emphasizes precision in their remanufacturing. Gears are inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and set to correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements to ensure precise setup and extended longevity. Proper gear backlash is also set to guarantee adequate gear lubrication and quiet operation. The axle tubes are inspected to ensure they are straightened to OEM specifications, and housings are tested for surface wear and cracks. This assembly is a standard replacement grade and includes the axle cover, but does not include fluid or mounting hardware. The remanufacturing process includes a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning and a hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure for both internal and external parts, restoring the housings to an OEM finish.
