7" FMIC Front Mount Intercooler

The ARM Motorsports 7" FMIC is a front mount intercooler engineered for N54 and N55 powered E90 335i vehicles, suitable for those maxing out stock turbos or running turbo upgrades. With a substantial increase in volume over smaller upgrades, this 7" FMIC is designed to handle higher boost applications where intake air temperatures (IATs) can rise rapidly. The core of the ARM 7" FMIC features ULTRA-Dense fin packs with 18 fins per inch, placing it at the forefront for core density and cooling efficiency. This design allows it to cool charged air effectively without the pressure loss typically associated with larger intercooler upgrades. The unit measures 20 x 7 x 5.75 inches, providing a total volume of 805 cubic inches, which is almost double the OEM 335i intercooler and significantly larger than other aftermarket options. During testing, the ARM 7" FMIC demonstrated a 95% improvement in cooling performance compared to the OEM intercooler. Where the stock unit saw a 60-degree IAT increase in third gear, the ARM 7" FMIC only experienced a three-degree increase. Dyno testing on a Stage 2+ N54 335i showed an average gain of 35whp and 38wtq over the OEM intercooler. This intercooler is the first of its kind for the E90 335i to feature CAD-designed CNC aluminum connectors, allowing for the use of either OEM intercooler hoses or the ARM FMIC Hose Upgrade. Utilizing the OEM connectors ensures a faster and fully reversible installation. The unit does not require front bumper removal but will necessitate some trimming of the plastic behind the bumper.
