7" Front Mount Intercooler

The ARM Motorsports 7" Front Mount Intercooler is engineered as a direct upgrade for BMW E60 and E61 535i and 535xi models equipped with the N54 3.0L engine. This intercooler boasts a substantial 805 cubic inch core volume, nearly doubling the size of the OEM unit, and features an ultra-dense fin pack design with 18 fins per inch. This construction ensures superior cooling performance and efficiency, significantly reducing intake air temperatures (IATs). During testing, the ARM 7" FMIC demonstrated remarkable cooling capabilities, resulting in only a three-degree increase in IATs during a third-gear datalog. This contrasts sharply with the OEM intercooler, which saw a performance-robbing sixty-degree increase under similar conditions, representing a 95% improvement in cooling performance. On a Stage 2+ N54 335i, this intercooler upgrade yielded an average of 10whp/10wtq over the ARM 5" FMIC and an impressive 35whp/38wtq over the stock intercooler. Installation of the ARM 7" FMIC requires some trimming of the plastic shroud behind the front bumper, though front bumper removal is not necessary. A 3" charge pipe is mandatory for installation; while other brands may function, ARM can only guarantee fitment with their own ARM E6X charge pipe. The kit includes the intercooler, E60 mounting hardware, an E60 hose upgrade, and an optional E60 charge pipe with a TiAL flange and an optional TiAL Q BOV.
