The EMPI 00-9264-0 is a 72-plate oil cooler kit designed for air-cooled VWs, sand rails, and dune buggies. It features a patented stacked-plate design that allows oil to pass through embossed plates for increased cooling efficiency.

This kit offers 30% greater cooling efficiency than traditional tube cooler designs. It is constructed from aerospace-quality aluminum, oven-brazed, and is vibration-proof. The elements are only 1 1/2 inches thick and measure 1-1/2” x 8” x 11”.

The EMPI Mesa Style 72 Plate Oil Cooler Kit is a state-of-the-art oil cooling solution for air-cooled VWs, sand rails, and dune buggies. This kit utilizes a patented stacked-plate design, allowing oil to flow through embossed plates instead of tubes. This design spreads the oil evenly, exposing more of it to the cooling walls of the plates, and the embossed patterns enhance effective cooling area and facilitate direct air transfer for maximum heat dissipation. Featuring a 30% increase in cooling efficiency over conventional tube cooler designs, this kit ensures optimal oil temperature management. The flow-through air transfer allows oil to cool rapidly without impeding oil pressure. Constructed from aerospace-quality aluminum, the cooler is resistant to corrosion and rust, oven-brazed for durability, and vibration-proof. Its compact 1 1/2-inch thickness accommodates tight installations. The kit includes the oil cooler, an engine case bypass adapter, a remote oil filter bracket, high-temperature hoses, and all necessary fittings for installation. It measures 1-1/2” x 8” x 11”.
