The Mopar J2801544 is an original 1967-1968 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission, specifically built by Mopar for 426 Hemi engine applications. This unit, produced at the Lynch Road plant in Detroit, Michigan, features the part number J2801544 and a partial VIN stamping of 8A179110, indicating it is a 1968 model year transmission. This transmission was recently acquired from an estate cleanout and was stored under a workbench. While it appears clean and the transmission fluid was not burned upon inspection, it is being sold as a non-working core for rebuilding due to an unknown history. Light debris was found in the pan, suspected to be environmental contamination rather than internal component failure. Cosmetic damage includes a small split in the starter snout support and a broken lower service tab. Despite these minor issues, this is described as a genuine 426 Hemi 727 Torqueflite transmission.
