The HPA Motorsports HVA-271-Street-CC downpipes are engineered to enhance the performance and heat management of turbocharged engines by improving exhaust flow. Standard OEM downpipes, often featuring a restrictive 63mm diameter and catalytic converter, can create excessive back pressure, causing the turbocharger to work harder and generate more heat, which can hinder the ECU's ability to optimize ignition and fueling maps. These HPA downpipes address this by utilizing a larger 3-inch (76mm) diameter and a high-flow 300-cell catalytic converter. Constructed for functionality and durability, these downpipes are proudly manufactured in Canada. They feature investment-cast 304 stainless exhaust flanges and .063 wall T304L stainless mandrel tubing. The assembly is precision TIG welded with argon back purging, ensuring a clean exterior appearance and a perfect weld on the interior for optimal flow and longevity. The enhanced flow design contributes to improved throttle response, a deeper exhaust note, and better heat management. Additionally, they are reported to eliminate turbo lag and provide a maximum power gain of +35 HP with consistent gains throughout the powerband. This product is specifically designed for the Audi C7 S6 and S7 models from 2012 to 2018.
