The K&N 77 Series High-Flow Performance Metal Air Intake Kits are engineered to deliver impressive power gains and enhance under-the-hood style for pickup trucks and SUVs. This specific kit, part number 77-1553KP, is designed for the Jeep Wrangler JK 3.8L V6 models from 2007 to 2011. This enhanced airflow is credited with boosting horsepower, torque, and acceleration. The kit includes an oversized, high-flow conical air filter made from K&N's signature red cotton gauze material. This filter is designed for maximum dirt-trapping capacity, allowing for extended service intervals of up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. The system also incorporates heat shields in most models to protect the intake from engine heat, ensuring cooler air enters the engine for optimal performance. Reinforced adapters and powder-coated steel brackets are included for durability and a secure fit, along with stainless steel clamps and couplers. This K&N intake system has an estimated horsepower gain of 7.92 HP at 4807 RPM and an estimated torque gain of 13.5 lb-ft. It holds CARB EO Number D-269-38, making it street legal in all 50 states. The system comes with a No-Hassle Lifetime Limited Warranty from K&N.
