The BBK Performance 78mm Throttle Body Intake is designed to enhance the performance of your 1996-2004 Ford Mustang GT with a 4.6L engine, offering a direct bolt-on upgrade that can increase horsepower by 10-12 HP. This unit seamlessly integrates a high-flow upper plenum with a 78mm throttle body into a single assembly, providing a smoother airflow transition and saving costs compared to separate purchases. Constructed from a precision CNC-machined 356 aluminum casting and finished in a durable dark charcoal powder coat, this throttle body intake is built for longevity. It features die-stamped throttle linkages, double-sealed bearings, and an O-ringed throttle shaft, ensuring dependable and smooth operation. The product is proudly made in the USA. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically completed in 30 minutes or less with basic hand tools. It requires transferring a couple of sensors from the stock unit. An important note for installation is that the updated BBK throttle body does not require a TPS bushing, as modifications to the machining and bearing have eliminated this need; users should refrain from using one if not included. This part is C.A.R.B. Approved (EO Number D-245-17) and legal for use in all 50 states on 1996-2004 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L 2V applications. It also fits 1996 and 1997 Thunderbird models with the 4.6L V8, provided hose modifications are made.
