The DeWalt DWP849X is a lighter, more powerful variable speed rotary polisher designed for restoring auto paint, as well as metal and concrete finishing. It features a Controlled Finishing System (CFS) with soft start for high finish quality and improved speed control. Compared to the previous Dewalt 849, this model has improved ergonomics, a more powerful 12 amp motor (vs. 8 amp), and is lighter at 6.5 lbs. The variable speed dial allows users to set maximum speed from 0 to 600/3500 rpm. Additional features include a variable speed trigger, heat-treated precision-cut steel gears, wool ingestion shields for increased tool life, a non-marring rubber gear case cover, and pop-off brushes to protect the armature. It comes with a hook & loop backing pad.
