8.5" Brake Booster Upgrade Kit

The JDM Car Parts 8.5" Brake Booster Upgrade Kit is engineered for the Datsun 240Z models from 1969 to 1972, providing a significant improvement in braking performance over the original 7-inch booster. It is compatible with the stock brake master cylinder with minimal modifications needed. The kit includes a built-in check valve, though its location differs from the original, necessitating adjustments to vacuum hose length at both ends. A bypass connector is also provided to replace the original check valve. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for owners who have installed larger calipers, such as Toyota 4-pod calipers, which can cause wheel lock-up during hard braking. This booster upgrade allows for effective stopping power with reduced effort while maintaining the vehicle's stock appearance. Mounting stud dimensions are center-to-center: 100mm on the long side and 70mm on the short side. For reference, the original 1969-1972 Datsun 240Z boosters have studs measuring 80mm on the long side and 70mm on the short side. CAUTION: This brake booster upgrade kit is NOT compatible with the original brake master cylinder found in 1969-1971 models. A late-type brake master cylinder (1972-1978), part number 24-J4232, is required for proper installation and function.
