The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1513BE is a remanufactured axle assembly specifically designed for 1988 GM 1500 4WD models. This assembly features an 8.5-inch GM 10-bolt ring gear, a 3.73 gear ratio, and 28 spline axles, configured for open differential operation. Each axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process at Zumbrota Drivetrain. Internal components such as ring & pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers are thoroughly inspected and tested. All wearable parts, including bearings and seals, are replaced with new ones. The gear setup is meticulously done to ensure optimal tooth contact patterns, correct rolling torque measured in inch-pounds, and precise gear backlash for quiet operation and extended lifespan. Zumbrota employs a comprehensive cleaning procedure, including exclusive hydro-blast rinsing and sandblasting, followed by a proprietary shot-peening deep cleaning process. This ensures internal and external parts meet OEM standards for cleanliness and finish. Axle tubes are also inspected for straightness and corrected to OEM specifications.
