The AudioControl SPK-8S2 Spike Series 8-inch subwoofer is engineered to deliver heart-pounding bass with precision and durability. Constructed with a fiber matrix paper cone featuring a mica coating, the SPK-8S2 offers a natural sound profile. Its robust build includes a 3-layer high-temperature voice coil former designed to handle significant power and dissipate heat effectively, preventing performance degradation. The dual damping system contributes to more linear bass reproduction by controlling the cone and suspension movement, while the dual dust cap system actively manages enclosure compression for optimal output. With an impedance of either 2 or 4 Ohms, the SPK-8S2 offers flexibility in system configuration. It is rated for 350W RMS and can handle up to 500W Max power, with a frequency response spanning from 30-500 Hz. The subwoofer's specifications include a 2.0-inch voice coil diameter and a displacement of 0.05 cu ft. Physical dimensions for installation include an overall diameter of 8.425 inches, a cut-out diameter of 7.25 inches, and a mounting depth of 4.291 inches.
