The AudioControl SPK-8S4 Spike Series subwoofer is engineered to deliver powerful and precise bass, enhancing any vehicle's sound system. Its 8-inch size is suitable for various enclosure types, and it offers versatile impedance options of 2 or 4 Ohms. The subwoofer is built to handle 350W RMS and a peak of 500W, with a frequency response ranging from 30 Hz to 500 Hz, ensuring deep and impactful low frequencies. Construction highlights include a fiber matrix paper cone with a mica coating, which contributes to a warm and natural sound. The high excursion design allows for greater cone movement, enabling the subwoofer to move more air for higher sound pressure levels and increased volume capability. Additionally, a 3-layer, high-temperature voice coil former is integrated to manage power effectively and ensure consistent performance. The dual damping system aids in linear bass reproduction, while the dual dust cap system helps control enclosure compression. For installation and integration, the SPK-8S4 has a voice coil diameter of 2.0 inches and a displacement of 0.05 cu ft. Its overall dimensions are 8.425 inches, with a cut-out diameter of 7.25 inches and a mounting depth of 4.291 inches. A removable subwoofer grille is included. AudioControl also provides recommended enclosure specifications for both ported and sealed designs to optimize bass performance. The product comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
