At its core are lightweight, forged one-piece aluminum calipers, meticulously constructed from a solid billet for unmatched strength and resistance to corrosion. These calipers feature an opposed-piston design that ensures even brake pad wear and aluminum pistons optimized for higher heat resistance. Complementing the calipers are two-piece rotors, available in either cross-drilled for improved cooling on daily drivers or slotted for enhanced heat, dust, and gas dissipation during track use. The two-piece design allows for independent expansion and contraction, reducing warping, and utilizes lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum center sections to lower rotational mass for quicker wheel response. Standard equipment includes high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, stainless-steel brake pad wear plates, and SC5 street brake pads, which offer a balance of performance and reduced dust/noise. For those seeking maximum track performance, an upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available. The kit also incorporates D.O.T. compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which eliminate line expansion under pressure for a firmer pedal feel and quicker response. Each kit is supplied with CNC-machined carbon steel caliper brackets to ensure proper fitment. It is important to note that this specific kit is designed for the Volkswagen MK5 Golf GTI from 2006-2009. Due to the larger caliper size compared to OEM, the OEM handbrake will not function with this kit. Additionally, the kit is appropriate for wheels 15.3 inches and larger.
