The Ksport 8 Piston Front Big Brake System is engineered to deliver superior stopping power for your 1974-1983 Volkswagen Golf MK1 Type 17. This advanced braking solution integrates new technologies to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously refresh the brake pad surface during operation. At the core of this kit is an extreme lightweight caliper, precision-machined from aircraft-quality billet aluminum. It features a differential bore configuration, aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design is crucial for improving both pad wear and caliper rigidity compared to OEM components. Complementing the calipers are D.O.T. compliant stainless steel braided brake lines, which enhance pedal feel and response by eliminating line expansion under pressure. The kit includes 2-piece floating disc assemblies, which reduce rotating and unsprung weight while preventing thermal stresses from warping the disc. The unique rotor slot design minimizes braking noise and efficiently expels gas and debris. Ksport offers two pad options: the SC5 ceramic street pads, optimal for street use and occasional track days, and the RC1 carbon metallic race pads, designed for extreme track conditions. While SC5 pads offer reduced dust and noise, RC1 pads require higher operating temperatures and are not recommended for street use. This specific kit is designed for 2WD vehicles only.
