The KILMAT 80 mil sound deadening mat is a self-adhesive automotive insulation product designed to reduce noise and vibrations. Constructed from butyl and foil, this 80 mil (2 mm) thick material is engineered for efficient sound dampening and resonance reduction. The mat features a very sticky self-adhesive backing, making it user-friendly and suitable for DIY installation. Its substantial weight of 0.5 lbs/sqft ensures optimal efficiency for its thickness. The material includes a special embossing on the foil, which serves as a visual indicator for correct installation: the embossing should be rolled out until smooth to ensure professional and effective soundproofing. Installation is made easier by the handy size sheets provided, which simplify cutting and application. For proper installation, it is recommended to wear gloves to protect hands from sharp edges and to work in a well-ventilated area.
