The IPD 82mm Competition Plenum is an advanced intake system developed through extensive research and development for the 981 Porsche Boxster and Cayman. This plenum is specifically engineered to work with the larger 82mm throttle body from the 997 GT3, replacing the stock 74mm unit to significantly boost performance. The engineering behind this plenum focuses on optimizing airflow. It features custom silicone hose to accommodate the larger throttle body and an internal dimpling effect that reduces friction and enhances air tumbling, similar to a dimpled golf ball. This design results in improved airflow and throttle response, making it an essential upgrade for serious driving enthusiasts aiming to elevate their 981's capabilities. Applications include the Porsche Boxster 981 (2012-2016) with the 2.7L F6 engine and the Porsche Cayman 981 (2013-2016) with the 2.7L F6 engine. It is crucial to note that this plenum is designed exclusively for the larger 997 GT3 82mm throttle body and is not compatible with the standard throttle body. Professional installation by qualified Porsche technicians is highly recommended. Please be aware that this item is not CARB approved and therefore not for sale or use in California or other states that require CARB certification. IPD Plenums are known for delivering dyno-proven performance gains, with an approximate gain of 15 HP and 12 ft-lb of torque for the 2.7L engine, typically realized in the higher RPM ranges.
