The Auburn Gear 545012 ECTED is an advanced electronically controlled traction enhancing differential designed for Dana 35 rear axles with 27 splines and a 3.31 or numerically lower gear ratio. This innovative locker operates via an electrical current to a coil, eliminating the need for complex pneumatic or hydraulic systems. When activated, the coil generates a magnetic field that compresses a clutch pack, engaging the locker for superior traction. The system allows for instantaneous electronic engagement and disengagement with an in-cabin switch. In its default state, the ECTED functions as a limited-slip differential, providing enhanced traction for daily driving and moderate off-road conditions. The unit is engineered for straightforward installation, requiring only a small wire entrance hole for modification.
