The PPE Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve is a high-performance solution designed to address the restrictive internal passages of the factory GM 8L90 8-speed thermal bypass valve. By eliminating the stock valve, this billet aluminum component maximizes fluid flow to and from the transmission cooler, ensuring consistent cooling capacity. Proper thermal regulation is critical for preventing the transmission from overheating, especially during heavy-duty tasks like towing or consistent stop-and-go driving. This kit is a direct-fit replacement for the OEM valve on 2019-2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 models equipped with the 8L90 transmission and 1/2-inch transmission lines. It includes a removable service plug featuring a Neodymium magnet and O-ring seal, which traps ferrous debris that the factory unit cannot capture. Periodic inspection and cleaning of this plug help maintain a cleaner transmission system over time. Installation requires disconnecting transmission lines, which may result in minor fluid loss; ensure that the transmission fluid level is checked and topped off properly before driving. Note that this part is designed specifically for the 8L90 transmission with 1/2-inch lines and is not compatible with other transmission configurations or non-specified vehicle models.
