90# Valve Springs

The ZZPerformance 90# Valve Springs are OEM GM LS6 springs, originally equipped in the LS6 engine known for its .550" lift capability and 6500 RPM redline. These beehive-style springs provide a higher spring rate compared to other options, making them effective for camshafts with more aggressive ramp rates. They are a suitable choice for setups using VS and NIC cams with shifts occurring at 6000 RPM. Installing upgraded valve springs is crucial when increasing boost pressure. Boost pushing on the back of intake valves can reduce effective spring pressure. New valve springs allow for higher revs and increased boost without experiencing valve float, thereby maintaining performance. For boosted applications requiring shifts above 6000 RPM, ZZPerformance recommends considering Comp Cams 136# or Crow 130# valve springs. These springs have a recommended install height of 1.800 inches and a spring rate of 375 lbs/in. They are designed to handle up to .570" of valve lift. Each set contains 16 springs, sufficient for a complete V8 engine application. It is important to note that retainers, locks, and valve stem seals are not included with this set.
