90mm Power Wedge

The Vararam VRX-93 Power Wedge is engineered to enhance airflow and improve engine performance by optimizing the angle of attack for air entering the intake manifold. This 90mm throttle body spacer was developed from the VRX Intake manifold program, addressing the common upward angle of OEM manifolds that can restrict flow at wide-open throttle. This leads to gains in power and torque across the entire RPM range, with significant increases noted from 2,000 RPM to redline. Specific dyno testing on stock LS-3 engines has shown torque gains of 10-18 ft-lbs and up to 14hp in the 2500-4500 RPM range. Modified and supercharged applications can expect even greater performance increases. Constructed from CNC-machined Zytel plastic, the same material used in many OEM intake manifolds, this power wedge offers durability, minimal heat soak, and a design that allows for proper idle pulley clearance. Installation is straightforward, typically taking 5-10 minutes using existing OEM bolts. For custom-tuned vehicles, increased airflow from the Power Wedge may necessitate a re-tune to prevent MAF scaling issues, which could lead to the ECU delaying timing advance and running rich. The design includes a balanced plenum and a variable radius air horn to further boost air velocity into the intake manifold plenum, enhancing overall flow and power.
