The Tomei MLS Head Gasket is engineered for high-performance applications using the Nissan VQ35DE engine. Its flexible nature, combined with spring-like beads, helps prevent issues like blown gaskets and cylinder block melting. This gasket distinguishes itself by utilizing a sealed firing ring around the combustion chamber, similar to OEM designs, enhancing reliability under the strain of high horsepower engines. Both the top and bottom layers are coated in a specially developed nitrile rubber that reinforces the seal and improves contact with the head and block surfaces. The package also includes essential gaskets such as throttle body, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and an oil gallery orifice. Designed for direct fitment, this head gasket is compatible with various Nissan 350Z models from 2003-2006, specifically those equipped with the VQ35DE engine. It's important to note that the gasket thickness can be adjusted to fine-tune the engine's compression ratio, aiding in achieving optimal performance settings. The use of stainless steel increases the joint rigidity between the cylinder head and block, minimizing the risk of engine warping under severe stress from high-power applications, thereby improving durability and potentially yielding power gains.
