Most Clevite rod and main bearings feature tri-metal CL-112 construction, tested to a 12,000-psi rating for reliable performance. Clevite cam bearings are precision-bored and feature a steel backing, copper-lead alloy, nickel barrier, and electroplated babbitt overlay for conformability, embedability, and low-friction operation.
