The VIS Racing A Spec Style Hood is a meticulously crafted upgrade designed specifically for the BMW 1-Series (E82) 2DR models from 2008 to 2012, including the 1 Series M, 125i, 128i, and 135i. Constructed from 100% ISO-certified, Grade-A carbon fiber, this two-part hood utilizes the advanced Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.). This manufacturing method not only increases structural integrity but also results in a hood that is 10-20% lighter than the original equipment. It is finished with an ultra-clear Poly Shield coating, providing a durable, high-gloss, UV-protective layer against the elements. Installation of this hood requires the use of hood pins for safety and optimal performance. The factory hood struts, shocks, dampers, or springs are not compatible with this design and should not be used, as their incompatibility may lead to structural failure.
