Description

The Vargas Turbocharger Technologies VTT A90/91 Supra Carbon Fiber Driveshaft is a premium upgrade engineered for the demanding needs of high-performance vehicles. Manufactured in the USA by GCDS (Gulf Coast Driveshaft) exclusively for VTT, this component leverages extensive experience in high-performance and drag racing applications. Constructed with a 3-inch x .155 wall carbon fiber tube (3.31″ OD), the driveshaft is paired with NEAPCO Performance 1350 series U-joints. It utilizes a proprietary high-strength bonding process and is precision balanced to an exceptional tolerance of less than 1/8 in-oz as a complete assembly. For added assurance, every shaft undergoes in-house torque testing to 3,000 ft-lbs before shipping, verifying structural integrity. The system integrates VTT-designed 7075 forged aluminum adapters, which replace the factory guibos and reduce unnecessary flex points. The driveshaft connects directly to the BMW 3-bolt front flange, while a robust VTT 4340 rear adapter replaces the stock slip-in/screw-retained design, boosting strength and reliability. This upgrade is Proudly Made in the USA. Key features include carbon fiber tubing bonded to 7075 forged aluminum yokes, bi-directional torque testing to 3,000 ft-lbs, and computer balancing to less than 1/8 oz/in. The carbon fiber layup is engineered with multiple wind angles to maximize torsional strength and minimize driveline shock. This design allows the driveshaft to handle extreme power levels while significantly reducing rotational mass. The driveshaft can be SFI certified upon request at the time of order. Installation Note: This upgrade replaces factory guibos with solid aluminum adapters, which may introduce drivetrain vibrations at certain RPM ranges, particularly during deceleration. This is considered normal behavior and can vary based on drivetrain condition and alignment. Clearances must be verified after installation as the driveshafts are larger in diameter than the factory shaft. VTT is not responsible for damage resulting from insufficient clearance or improper installation. Lead times can be unusually long, typically 4-8 weeks if out of stock, and all sales are final with no cancellations or refunds.
