The Zumbrota Drivetrain axle assembly is a remanufactured AAM 11.5-inch rear axle, specifically designed for '01-'07 GM 3500 Cab Chassis trucks equipped with either an automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. This unit boasts a 3.73 gear ratio and includes G80 Posi Traction for enhanced performance. Zumbrota Drivetrain Axle Assemblies are rebuilt to rigorous standards of precision and reliability. Each assembly undergoes thorough inspection for straightness, cracks, and surface wear. All internal components, including ring and pinions, gears, clutches, and carriers, are fully inspected and tested. To ensure longevity and quiet operation, all bearings and seals are replaced, and gears are meticulously set for optimal tooth contact patterns and correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements. The axle tubes are also inspected and straightened to OEM specifications. Zumbrota employs an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-peened deep cleaning process for both internal and external parts.
