Description

The Standard IGN ALS3084 is an ABS speed sensor designed to supply information about wheel movement to the ABS computer. It is typically located at each wheel hub/rotor on 4-wheel disc systems, or on the differential housing for rear drum applications.

When wheel speeds become unequal under braking, indicating wheel lockup, the ABS computer uses this sensor data to modulate the anti-lock feature until speeds equalize. Replacement ABS speed sensors are available for hundreds of makes and models.
