The HPEVS AC-50 Brushless AC Motor, model AC-50-96, is a robust AC induction motor engineered for demanding applications such as electric vehicle conversions, mining, utility vehicles, and ground support equipment. Operating at 96 volts (with a 72-108V range) and drawing up to 650A, it delivers a peak of 71 HP and 120 ft-lbs of torque, making it well-suited for medium-sized cars and lightweight vehicles. Constructed with an internal fan for thermal cooling, this motor boasts a maximum efficiency of 88%. Key specifications include a continuous RPM of 5,000 and a maximum RPM of 10,000. It features an encoder for integrated sensors and a 1 1/8 inch drive-end shaft with a 1/4 inch keyway. An optional 7/8 inch auxiliary shaft with a 3/16 inch keyway is also available. The motor weighs approximately 115 lbs (52 kg) and has a 2-year warranty. This AC-50 motor incorporates advanced features such as regenerative braking and an idle function, contributing to a safer and more reliable EV system. Its design at a modest 130 controller volts aims to provide extensive, dependable EV mileage. The motor is available in various configurations, including different shaft options and face mounts (B-Face or C-Face), to accommodate diverse installation needs.
