The BMW accessory belt tensioner assembly is an OE quality hydraulic tensioner that serves as an updated replacement for older style mechanical tensioners. This complete hydraulic tensioner assembly includes the damper and pivot arm. Its primary function is to maintain constant tension on the main accessory belt, ensuring the smooth operation of components such as the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump. This hydraulic tensioner is manufactured by INA, a well-respected OEM supplier for many automotive components, including those found in BMW vehicles. The INA brand is part of the Schaeffler Group, a global leader in bearing manufacturing. This part is made in Slovakia and is designed as a direct replacement for various BMW models, carrying OE numbers such as 11287838797, 11281427252, 11281722789, 11281735899, and 11281748832. When converting from a mechanical tensioner to this hydraulic version, specific hardware is required. You will need one M8x105 bolt (p/n 07119904532), one M8x50 bolt (p/n 07119904533), and one M8x35 bolt (p/n 07119906650). These bolts are not included with this assembly and must be sourced separately.
