The Sonnax accumulator cover plate kit 44892-01K is an upgrade designed for Chrysler 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE, and 68RFE transmissions. It addresses the weakness of the original equipment plate, which can flex and cause screws to loosen or break.

This kit features a plate made from thicker steel for increased durability. It includes three additional screw holes and high-torque screws to ensure the plate and screws remain secure against normal vibration. The kit also allows for the salvage of valve bodies that may have damaged plates. Contents include the accumulator plate, accumulator shim, six screws, and six washers.

The Sonnax accumulator cover plate kit 44892-01K is a direct upgrade for Chrysler 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE, and 68RFE transmissions, designed to rectify a known weakness in the original equipment. In these transmissions, the factory accumulator plate is prone to flexing due to insufficient support, which can lead to the mounting screws loosening and eventually breaking. This failure can compromise the integrity of the valve body. The Sonnax kit directly addresses this issue. Constructed from thicker, more robust steel, the Sonnax accumulator cover plate provides superior rigidity. It incorporates three additional mounting holes and is supplied with high-torque-rated screws. This design ensures the plate and its fasteners are held securely, preventing loosening from normal operational vibrations and significantly extending the life of the valve body. The kit is also capable of salvaging valve bodies that have already sustained damage to the original plate. This kit includes the necessary components for installation: the accumulator plate itself, an accumulator shim, six screws, and six washers. For installations requiring stronger threads in the aluminum valve body, Sonnax also offers the 44892-TL thread tap (sold separately).
