Description

The ACL Bearing 5M2232A-30 is a main bearing set designed for direct fitment on GM 4, 2.2L Ecotech engines produced from 2000 onwards. Constructed from advanced bimetal aluminum, these OE replacement bearings meet modern environmental and performance standards. ACL Bearings' composition offers superior strength, durability, and fit for OEM replacement needs, replacing traditional lead-based bearings. The design features include a high-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties, and increased crush for enhanced bearing retention. Key design elements contribute to improved performance and longevity. Features such as the elimination of flash plating on the back of the bearings enhance heat transfer and maximize grip with the housing. Increased eccentricity helps compensate for bore distortion at high RPMs and assists in the formation of hydrodynamic oil films. Tight, consistent wall tolerances ensure accurate and stable clearances.
