ACL Race Rod Bearing Set, 52mm Journal

The ACL Race Rod Bearing Set is a high-performance Trimetal engine bearing engineered to meet the demands of higher RPM conditions in Subaru EJ20, EJ22, and EJ25 engines. These bearings are designed with a unique combination of materials and engineering for superior performance. Key features include a high-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for enhanced fatigue properties, and hardened steel backs to improve bearing lining support and retention. The design also incorporates increased crush for better bearing retention and eliminates flash plating on the back to improve heat transfer and grip. Furthermore, increased eccentricity compensates for bore distortion at high RPMs, aiding in the formation of hydrodynamic oil films, while tight, consistent wall tolerances ensure precise clearances. This set is specifically designed for Subaru 4-cylinder engines featuring a 52mm journal size, compatible with 1996-1997 1.8L 16-valve applications. Enlarged ID chamfers on the bearing edges are included to accommodate large fillet radii on performance crankshafts.
