Acoustic Insulation

The 3M Thinsulate SM200L is an automotive acoustic insulation product designed to absorb sound and provide superior acoustic control in vehicles. Its non-woven sound-absorbing fibers are made from a unique combination of fine microfibers and stronger polyester fibers, creating a quieter vehicle environment. This material is lightweight, compressible, and conformable, making it easy to handle and install.

The SM200L is hydrophobic, resisting moisture, mold, and mildew, and is FMVSS 302 certified. It is suitable for applications such as fender liners, luggage compartments, parcel trays, trunk liners, under-engine covers, door panels, trim panels, headliners, instrument panels, pillars, and wheel wells. The material has a caliper of 13 mm and a basis weight of 242 gm/m2, with fibers contained in a single black scrim.
