The ACT HC12-HDG6 is a heavy-duty race clutch kit engineered for high-horsepower street or race use, offering a 71% increase in torque capacity over OE specifications, up to 527 ft-lbs. This kit features ACT's popular Heavy Duty pressure plate, which utilizes an exclusive diaphragm design to increase clamp load, reduce deflection, and maximize clutch life. The diaphragms undergo a four-stage, heat-treating process for durability, and the precision cover stampings ensure rigidity and consistency. The kit includes a 6-pad, spring-centered race disc made from ceramic material, chosen for its high heat tolerance and maximum performance. This sprung disc design properly damps torsional vibrations and resists failure under harsh conditions, thanks to ACT's spring retainers which feature wraparound spring windows and thicker stampings for enhanced strength and reliability. While this setup provides aggressive engagement and faster shifting, it may result in OE to mild gear rattle. Included with the clutch kit is an ACT Streetlite flywheel (149 teeth) and all necessary hardware, including flywheel bolts (M12-1.0 x 25mm) and pressure plate bolts (M8-1.25 x 16mm). The release bearing and alignment tool are also part of the package, ensuring a complete solution for installation. ACT guarantees that the kit is 100% clamp load tested and dynamically computer balanced for smooth, high-RPM reliability.
