The GKTech GT86-SSTR is a bolt-on angle kit engineered to significantly increase steering lock and response for the FR-S, GR86, BRZ, and GT86 chassis. This kit allows for approximately 60 degrees of steering lock and features adjustable ackerman, enabling near-parallel front steering for improved control. The installation is designed to be straightforward, with an estimated time of 30 minutes for those with general mechanical knowledge. However, due to the nature of suspension components, professional installation by a trained technician is recommended. A wheel alignment will be necessary after installation as the kit alters the vehicle's toe settings. Users may potentially experience the traction control light coming on due to changes in front geometry and wheel speed sensors; this can be managed by holding specific buttons for a set duration or by turning the vehicle off and on. While the kit is a direct bolt-on and reversible, some users have reported needing to trim slightly more off the knuckle than indicated in the installation video. It is also recommended to consider offset steering rack spacers to help mitigate steering bind. Some users have noted that with stock inner tie rods, achieving adequate thread engagement can be challenging, and extended inner tie rods are recommended for optimal setup.
