The LC Engineering adjustable cam gear is the only method available to accurately change and verify cam timing on 20R, 22R, RE, RET, 2RZ, and 3RZ series Toyota motors. This single-row timing gear is crucial for correcting camshaft timing after cylinder head milling or block decking, allowing for fine-tuning to advance the cam for enhanced low-end torque or retard it for increased high-end power. Installation involves TDC alignment and careful placement of the gear onto the camshaft, ensuring the timing chain does not fall below the cover. The product can be used with mechanical fuel pumps by modifying the pump arm and utilizing an LC Engineering Modified Mechanical Fuel Pump Eccentric (Part #1021028). For swaps from mechanical to electric fuel pumps, a distributor drive gear spacer (Part #1081025) is required, similar to those found on stock 22RE/RET engines. Detailed installation and camshaft degreeing procedures, including the Intake Lobe Center Method, are provided to achieve the most accurate settings and optimal engine performance.
