Adjustable Wastegate Actuator

The MODE Auto Concepts GFB WGA Internal Wastegate Actuator (part #7302) is engineered to significantly enhance boost control for turbocharged systems equipped with an internal wastegate. Its design utilizes a substantially larger diaphragm area compared to the stock actuator. This increased surface area grants greater control authority over the wastegate flap, making it more resistant to exhaust backpressure and thus enabling more stable and dependable boost regulation. This upgrade is crucial for addressing common factory wastegate limitations such as boost drop-off at high RPM, unstable boost curves, or an inability to achieve target boost levels. The WGA actuator boasts a longer stroke (18mm), shorter height, and superior adjustability compared to competing products. It comes with three stainless steel springs that can be combined to achieve a base boost pressure range of 5psi to 22psi. A key innovation is the integrated turnbuckle adjustment, allowing for fine-tuning of the base boost pressure in minutes without the need to swap springs or remove the actuator. This feature, combined with the long stroke, simplifies the tuning process. The diaphragm is constructed from Nomex-reinforced silicone for durability. Part #7302 is a direct bolt-on for Mitsubishi EVO 9 models equipped with the factory turbo. The unit is supplied with 7psi and 10psi springs pre-installed, providing a base pressure of 17psi, with an additional 5psi spring included for further tuning. It is important to note that while this is a physical bolt-on product, it functions as a tuning tool. It WILL increase boost pressure, therefore, ECU tuning is MANDATORY after installation to ensure proper operation and engine safety.
