It is composed of mineral base oil stock and contains shear-stable VI improvers.

The Mobil Aero HF is a premium hydraulic fluid specifically formulated for aircraft systems utilizing hydrocarbon-based hydraulic fluids. This 5-gallon pail provides a substantial supply for demanding aviation applications. Mobil Aero HF boasts a high Viscosity Index (VI), enabling reliable equipment operation across a broad spectrum of temperatures. Its excellent low-temperature properties ensure high performance even in frigid ambient conditions. Furthermore, the fluid exhibits good chemical and oxidation stability, effectively resisting the formation of acidic constituents, varnishes, and deposits that can degrade system components. This hydraulic fluid meets the stringent "super clean" requirements of U.S. Spec. MIL-PRF-5606 (Aero HF), ensuring the reliable performance of critical hydraulic system components such as pumps and servo-valves. The mineral base oil stock and shear-stable VI improvers contribute to its overall durability and effectiveness.
