The slots are strategically placed with an offset pattern on both the outer and inner sides of the discs to effectively reduce brake judder, ensuring a smoother and more controlled braking experience. Constructed from a high carbon material, the SD Type rotors offer improved durability, making them ideal for sports cars and vehicles subjected to high brake loads. This material choice also contributes to better resistance against distortion and thermal cracking. The discs are balanced through milling and cutting on the side, a method employed by many car manufacturers to prevent vibration and ensure smooth operation. These rotors are suitable for a wide range of applications, from daily street use to high-performance driving and track use. DIXCEL recommends a reverse rotation for the six-slot configuration to achieve optimal brake performance. A 12-slot version is available as an option upon request, offering a different performance characteristic and potentially increased friction.
