The AIRAID Cold Air Dam (CAD) Performance Air Intake System (Part Number 204-145) is engineered to provide an engine with a larger volume of cooler air, leading to increased horsepower and torque. The system utilizes Cold Air Dam panels that act as a heat shield, protecting the intake air from hot engine bay temperatures. This intake system maintains the original air filter location but enhances it with a large open-element air inlet, ensuring a consistent, free-flowing supply of cooler outside air. The Cold Air Dam panels are installed in the factory air box location, incorporating any existing factory cold air inlet ducts while adding new passages to the filter. These panels create a seal with the underside of the hood using blade-style weatherstripping, isolating the filter from the hot engine compartment. The CAD system also features a replacement low-restriction intake tube and a 360-degree conical AIRAID premium air filter. This filter is washable, reusable, and offers superior filtration with less restriction than traditional paper filters.
