The ALDLcable ALDL-12-PIN-USB-CABLE is a USB data acquisition cable engineered for accessing diagnostic data streams from GM vehicles equipped with an OBD1 system. This cable features a 12-pin OBD1 connector designed to plug directly into the under-dash ALDL port, providing a convenient interface for connecting your laptop to your vehicle's ECM. This cable is compatible with most GM cars and trucks manufactured between 1982 and 1995 that utilize the 12-pin ALDL connector. It specifically works with vehicles that have the serial data pin on either pin M (8192 baud) or pin E (160 baud) of the connector. For GM vehicles with different connector configurations, such as those with serial data on pin D or the 16-pin OBDII style connector found on some 1994-1995 OBDI cars, alternative cables are available. It is not compatible with Lotus cars or GM vehicles with a mid-1980s configuration where serial data is on pin D. To monitor your engine's diagnostic data, you will need three components: a laptop PC with a USB port, this ALDL to USB cable, and a compatible software program such as WinALDL or TunerPro RT. The cable also works with the ALDLdroid app for Android devices, though the app is sold separately and compatibility should be verified before purchase.
