Alloy Axle Package

The Strange Engineering P3104 is an alloy axle package optimized for both street and track performance. Constructed from modified 1550 premium steel, these axles undergo significant machining before heat treatment to ensure consistent hardness, followed by induction hardening to Rc 58-62 for enhanced torsional strength and ductility. The finish machining is performed after heat treatment to guarantee accuracy. This package includes essential components for a comprehensive upgrade: forged alloy axles, axle bearings, retainer plates, and wheel studs. You can choose from various spline options, including 28, 30, and 31 spline configurations, with lengths available up to 34 1/2 inches. The axle packages are designed to fit a range of differential types, including Chevy 8.2 and 8.5 10-bolt, Chevy 12-bolt, Ford 8.8, Ford 9-inch, and Mopar 8.75 rear ends. Note that all Chevy and Ford 8.8 applications require replacement 3.150" housing ends. Customers can select their preferred axle bearings, which may be limited by the housing end type. Options include Timken® Tapered Unit Bearings, suitable for side loading and high mileage applications with 3.150" housing ends, or Sealed Ball Bearings for lower friction. Retainer plates are included to ensure proper axle retention. The package also offers a choice of press-in or screw-in wheel studs, with standard 7/16"-20 or 1/2"-20 sizes available, including longer 2" or 3" screw-in chrome moly options. Installation services for axle bearings and other related components are also available.
