The Mobil Almo 525 is a specialty lubricant designed for pneumatically operated rock drills. This lubricant offers an optimal balance of adhesiveness and emulsifiable properties to pick up moisture, reducing water's negative effects on wear and corrosion, and it does not form gummy deposits. Mobil Almo 500 Series oils have good preferential metal-wetting properties even in the presence of water, maintaining continuous oil films.

The Mobil Almo 525 is a premium, high-performance specialty lubricant specifically intended for the lubrication of pneumatically operated rock drills used in underground and surface mining operations. This lubricant offers a unique balance of adhesiveness while remaining sufficiently emulsifiable to pick up moisture present in the air stream. This feature helps to mitigate the detrimental effects of water on wear and corrosion. Unlike some lubricants, the Almo 525 does not form gummy deposits that can lead to sluggish valve action in air-powered tools. Even in the presence of water, Mobil Almo 500 Series oils exhibit superior preferential metal-wetting properties, ensuring the maintenance of continuous oil films on critical surfaces. Combined with high extreme pressure (EP) characteristics, this provides exceptional lubrication that contributes to extended equipment life. Furthermore, the Mobil Almo 500 Series boasts high viscosity indexes and low pour points, ensuring reliable lubrication at the low temperatures generated by air expansion and preventing icing stoppages, while still providing adequate films on drill parts that may operate at elevated temperatures. Oil fog generation levels are notably low.
