The AMS Alpha GT-R Race Intercooler is engineered to be the highest performing and most efficient intercooler for the Nissan R35 GT-R, designed to meet the demands of high-horsepower applications exceeding 900 HP and performance in hot weather climates. It features a substantial 22"x14"x4.5" bar-and-plate core, providing a 92.5% increase in air volume over stock units. The core's enhanced fin density, up to twice that of many aftermarket options, ensures maximum contact with cool air for superior cooling efficiency with a minimal boost pressure drop of less than 1 psi. Large 3-inch CNC billet inlet and outlet ports provide a smooth, tapered transition for improved air velocity and volume. The kit includes precisely molded, custom 4-ply silicone couplers for a perfect fitment and optimized airflow characteristics, contributing to unmatched power and response. To maximize cooling effectiveness, the intercooler utilizes a vertical airflow design and includes shroud and bridge plates. These plates create a tight seal around the core, ensuring that all incoming cool air is directed through the intercooler fins rather than escaping around the sides, above, or below. This design maximizes the efficiency of the core and is implemented without requiring any cutting of the factory crash beam or bumper cover. Minimal trimming of the plastic OEM shroud is necessary. The intercooler is pressure tested to 50psi and is compatible with Alpha GT-R piping or other aftermarket 3-inch intercooler piping that follows the stock routing.
