Each rod is forged from select 4340 chromoly steel, a robust material chosen for its strength. The straight H-beam design contributes to an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, crucial for high-output engines. Comprehensive manufacturing processes are employed, including extensive material testing and close collaboration with foundries to ensure quality. Each Alpha Series Rod undergoes rigorous heat-treating, tempering, and shot-peening to guarantee consistency and strength. Furthermore, every rod is magna-fluxed to confirm structural integrity and adherence to Skunk2's strict specifications. They feature bronze wrist pin bushings for enhanced wear resistance and dual oil passages at the pin ends for improved lubrication and cooling. The set includes precision-machined, heat-treated, 3/8-inch ARP2000 bolts, capable of withstanding clamping loads up to 220,000 psi. The rods are balanced to within +/- 1 gram and are rated to handle over 900 horsepower. They are backed by a one-year warranty.
