The Skunk2 308-05-1600 Alpha Titanium Retainers are specifically designed for Honda's D series engines, employing advanced computer-aided design techniques. These retainers are meticulously crafted to provide an optimal balance of strength and weight reduction, making them a crucial upgrade for high-performance applications. Precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade 6AL4V titanium, these retainers offer exceptional durability and lightweight performance. This reduction in mass is key to achieving better performance and reliability at high RPMs. It is critical to note specific installation requirements to prevent serious engine damage. When using these Skunk2 Titanium Retainers on 2004 and newer engines, pre-2004 keepers/locks must be used. Pre-2004 keepers can be identified by the absence of laser-etched marks along their top edge, unlike the 2004 and newer keepers which feature these marks. Proper retainer and keeper/lock selection is important due to varying angle ratios between earlier and later lock designs. Furthermore, these Alpha Series Retainers are not compatible with Ultra & BMF Series Camshafts. Ensure compatibility before installation.
